What is involved in the treatment and how long does it take?

Treatment time can range from 15 to 30 minutes. Very small amounts of Botulinum Toxin are injected into the target areas using a tiny needle. This blocks the impulse from the nerve to the facial muscles, reducing the contractions that cause wrinkles. Following the treatment, the skin over the muscles looks smooth and even.

How soon will I be able to see the results?

Results from Botulinum Toxin begin to show within 1-2 weeks of treatment.

Does the treatment cause discomfort?

Dr Gill is skilled at administering precision injections as painlessly as possible. To minimise discomfort a very fine needle and only a small amount of liquid is used. A local anaesthetic is not usually required before treatment.

What happens following my treatment?

Following treatment you can continue your daily activities as normal, this includes eating, drinking, wearing makeup and going to work. It will not be noticeable that you have had treatment. We advise you to not exercise or use steam/saunas.

Are there any side effects?

Very small amounts of Botulinum Toxin are used, so this treatment is not harmful. The most common side effects are temporary and localised bruising, slight redness of the skin and occasionally slight swelling at the injection site. You may also experience a headache for a short while.

How often do will I need treatment?
