Never heard of Invisalign?

That’s not surprising. Even though, all around you, people are using Invisalign to straighten their teeth, you’d never know it. Invisalign is stealth straightening. It uses a series of very thin, and see-through, mouth guard-shaped aligners. You put them on over your teeth and because they are so thin and transparent, once they are in place, they don’t show.

Invisalign works by having carefully placed pressure points inside each aligner. These press on the teeth that are misaligned and the sustained pressure causes bone to be resorbed and rebuilt in order to get rid of it. Once an aligner no longer feels like it doesn’t fit properly, you are ready to move onto the next one in the series. Each aligner takes 7-10 days to do its work. How many you will need depends on how wonky your teeth are, but the average treatment time is 12 months.

Easy eating

There’s another really great thing about using Invisalign instead of traditional braces in North London, and that is that Invisalign is removable. You take the aligners out to eat food and to drink anything other than plain water. If you left them it, the pigments from your food and drink could stain the plastic and make your aligners visible over your teeth. Taking your aligners out also means that your teeth are much easier to keep clean.
